At West Meadow Shepherds we’re excited to share news about our upcoming German Shepherd litters. Each puppy raised with love and care, and comes from carefully health-tested parents. Families across Ontario and beyond trust us for confident, loyal, and well-balanced German Shepherd companions.
About Our Puppies
Our puppies aren’t just raised, they’re nurtured. From the very first day, each puppy is handled daily, exposed to gentle sounds, textures, and experiences that help build confidence and resilience. By the time they go to their new homes, they are familiar with car rides, basic crate training, and the rhythm of family life.

🍃 Spring Litter Update
We’re happy to share that our spring litter has arrived and all puppies are thriving.
These little ones are being raised right in our home environment, surrounded by everyday sights, sounds, and gentle handling. Each day, they are growing stronger, more curious, and more confident as they begin exploring the world around them.
As always, our focus remains on raising well-balanced, family-ready companions with stable temperaments and a strong foundation for success in their new homes.
We are currently accepting a limited number of applications for this litter as there are three puppies unspoken for.
If you feel one of our puppies may be the right fit for your family, we would love to hear trom you.

Just like a future puppy will become part of your family, the parents are part of ours and our everyday life. Introducing to you, West Meadow’s Shepherd Puppies:

How do we assist our future puppy owners with selection?
Puppy selection for a family is a thoughtful and personalized process, typically beginning at around 7-8 weeks of age when the puppies’ personalities start to emerge. At this stage, we can perform temperament testing and use completed puppy questionnaires from prospective owners to guide the matching process. Several factors come into play, such as the family’s dynamics and input, including the number of members and their preferences, as well as the family’s lifestyle. For instance, we will consider the ages and personalities of the household. Activity level is also an important factor, matching puppies to homes where the energy levels align—active puppies might thrive in homes with plenty of stimulation and activity. Special requirements, like whether the dog will be used for therapy work, are also considered. Size is another factor, taking into account the predicted full-grown size of the puppy. While color preferences are noted, the primary goal is a successful placement based on compatibility and the needs of both the puppy and the family. After gathering all necessary information and conducting temperament testing, we usually narrow the choices down to three puppies and invite the family to meet them. This allows the family to observe how the puppies interact with them, as this is a key part of the selection process. Most often, the puppy will choose its human, creating a match made in heaven and a lifelong bond of happiness.

All of our puppies are Vet Checked, Heath Certified, Vaccinated, Tattooed, Dewormed and Temperament Tested. We also offer embark testing which s available a the cost of the puppy parents. Our parents are Embark Tested. Most importantly though, our puppies are born and raised with love and a high standard of care.
It is our hope to develop lifelong relationships with our clients. We offer a lifetime of support and have a beautiful community of West Meadow Shepherd Owners.
For the first two weeks of our pups lives, we focus on providing comfort to mama while the pups, who are blind and deaf at this stage, learn to nurse, sleep and thrive. Weeks 3+ are rather exciting while our puppies open their eyes, begin to hear and eventually start to stumble and learn to walk around. At this point we can begin to learn more about our puppies and begin to evaluate personality.
Our puppies are very well socialized with children, adults, cats and other dogs. They also get to play around with our pet goat named Panda! We offer a farm school program here and the children get to learn about animal husbandry all while interacting with and caring for our puppies (as well as with our horses, rabbits, chickens, goats and ducks).
Once the application form is completed we can arrange a phone call, or video call to discuss further.
A non refundable deposit is required to hold a puppy. All Puppies are sold with non breeding contracts.
Approved puppy homes will receive at minimum a weekly live video as well as be invited to join our private Facebook group to connect with our other puppy families. It is a very active group with some amazing families who share moments through photographs on a regular basis.
